A Conversational Digital Assistant for Supporting the Mental Health of Older Adults
This research investigates the design and evaluation of a conversational AI system aimed at supporting the emotional well-being of older adults. The project explores how conversational interfaces can be tailored to age-related cognitive, emotional, and accessibility needs.
 
The study focuses on three core dimensions:
 
1. Designing emotionally adaptive dialogue systems that foster trust and therapeutic value.
2. Integrating visualization literacy and interactive analytics to provide transparent, user-explorable insights into emotional patterns.
3. Examining human–AI interaction models that enhance usability, engagement, and long-term adoption among aging populations.
 
Methodologically, the project combines user-centered design principles, prototype development, and planned qualitative usability evaluations.
